Bev Mabey has been in education within both the Primary and Secondary sector for 36 years and 22 years have been in leadership. She took up her Headship in Birmingham in 2005 working in a large multicultural school in an area of high deprivation. Bev’s main area of expertise is in School Improvement and has worked to remove a number of schools out of the Ofsted category of Special Measures.
Bev has developed a Multi Academy Trust currently made up of 3 secondary schools and 4 primary schools. One of the secondary schools has converted to being an all through school and now includes a primary setting. Within the Trust there is a highly effective Resource Base for Autism and Speech and Language and she has just opened an equivalent provision within one of her secondary schools.
Bev has worked with the local authority on a wide range of projects and been the chair of a range of high profile boards. Bev has worked in partnership with West Midlands Police and more recently the prison Service. Beth more recently through the schools in her trust has been working to address the SEMH agenda working closely with a range of external partners.
